A
message from us at Casa Dante
To our Friends, Neighbors and Patrons:
We in New Jersey and New York have faced a terrible calamity
named Hurricane Sandy. Shethrew all she had our way, and save for
those precious lives lost, we consider ourselves lucky to be here with our
friends and families. Jersey City has fared better in the past storms, but this
one was one for the books. Very few were spared her violence. We pray for those
families who will suffer the effects of this storm for months and years to
come.
Casa Dante was returned to full power today, but it will
take more than a few days to open and quite some time to get back to
normalcy. We will give it our best, but the change and the memory can be
profound.
In the meantime we will be
providing discounted meals for lunch and dinner to our neighbors who need a hot
meal and warm place to eat. No dress code; no frills; just hospitality
forpeople in need.
Thanks to PSE& G, Mayor Healy, the City Council, Police
&Fire Department and all the employees and volunteers who set up food and
shelter stations throughout Jersey City. We'll get back and be stronger for it.
We wish you and your loved ones a safe journey through these
trying times.
